The Grand Old Party otherwise known as the GOP, has failed to represent or support conservatism since Barry Goldwater. Yes, Ronald Reagan forced the GOP, begrudgingly, into shape. Time and history prove the GOP is not conservative. They enable and cow tail to liberalism. Make a timeline into what socialistic and regulatory advances liberalism has made due to GOP compromise and special interests and reveal the truth. Next, evaluate why the GOP forces committee and sub committee members to annual leave fundraise to retain their committee seat. GOP votes and supports and conducts itself like independents, not the group charged with guarding conservative values and principles. The GOP utilizes several key commissions to claim its remains conservative to the masses, ie, guns, abortion…
The queen of conservatism today, Phyllis Schlafly, supports Donald Trump and states, “…he is our last hope.” The recent National Review failed to corral her and many other stunts conservative into its attempt to sway public opinion. The problem is the GOP is already fractured. The Tea Party would not exist, if the GOP actually represented conservatism. The Tea Party is called many names, but predominantly radical right wingers. This perception permeates society because the GOP enables this perception. The Grand Old Party has failed to represent what it purports to be. Note, if the Tea Party was not right of the GOP than the conjecture would not be applicable.
During any political campaign the “public” indoors lies, scandals, half-truths and mud slinging. We as members of the public are expected to sort out the minutiae in cast the most reasonable vote. Now the National Review steps in to communicate a message one would expect from the left side of the aisle. Conservatism already suffers division as we allow the 5, 10, or 15% to divide us. This event enables liberals to weasel in and create a chasm which ultimately when’s elections and conservatism suffers.
When you have the opportunity to pick up a book, or if you enjoy a good horror story, pick up a copy of “Extortion”, by Peter Schweitzer. It provides a true picture and agenda not only of the GOP, but politics in Washington. You will become livid, tearful and ultimately comprehend what has happened to conservatism and your voice.
It is now or never to repair the damage inflicted from years of liberal socialism and 8 years of Progressive presidential dictatorship. We must stop government insanity!
We must remain united and cease the incessant social media bashing of each other for supporting this or that candidate. The result of division could be catastrophic.
