“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”  – Benjamin Franklin

To minimize explanations and delve into examples of Legislative reaction to alleged societal problems; the inherent lunacy of such action; and ignorance of governmental endeavors to “solve” the alleged problems.  Yes, problems exist and encompass all spheres of life.  However, these problems existed before us and will after we are gone; they are an omnipresent reality in life.

Problems fail to justify government and certainly fail to grant government the right to intervene with laws.  Most problems exist from a lack of personal responsibility.  For example, you are overweight due to over eating; you are overweight due to a lack of exercise; you are overweight because you choose McDonalds and not Subway.  If trans-fat is your problem…solve it yourself, do not expect government to replace personal responsibility.

Your life and conditions of that life are a direct result of the choices you made.  If you do not like where you are at…MAKE DIFFERENT CHOICES!  Choose to walk or ride the bike; choose to read books and turn off the television; choose a salad and not the ribs; choose to work late cross-training with a peer to enhance your skill set; choose to learn how to play a soccer, and if, after diligent effort, discover you are bad, then learn baseball or another sport.

Let’s say you perceive your skill set or talent in playing racquetball cannot improve.  Examine why and take action.  Determine a game plan to heighten your game.  The best method in this example is to seek, find and compete against players with better skills than your own.  You watch how they play; their strategy; where the ball strikes the racquet; the direction, spin, location, and placement of the ball after striking the ball.

Today we face monumental challenges and intrusion by government into our daily life.  Largely, progressives capitalized and relied on societal failure.  This provides the catalyst for raising the banner of government action to resolve a problem.  Politicians enabled by this fact, present their competence as your Senator or whatever, because they wrote, presented, or introduced legislation addressing the alleged societal problem.

The quandary and predicament produced by government interference is bigger government.  It breeds more problems; more legislation, more control, and ultimately less liberty and higher taxes.  The subsequent remainder of this chapter identifies a microscopic portion of Liberal legislation and media hype.

“We the People” must compel and dictate restraint by politicians who think and react solely for the purpose of “doing something”.  The impulsive inclination of government to ‘react’ all the while is being neglectful of security, intelligence, necessity, and the Constitution.  The alleged problem is noted first; then liberal reaction; and ensuing omissions by government if they truly desired to fix the problem.

An extremely short chart notes a few issues; however, I am confident you are capable of rendering judgment of many topics.  The endless realm of possibilities from education, cross-walks, global warming, global cooling, diets, cell phone use at gas pumps, immigration, bar times, Sunday liquor sales, Social Security, budgets, or even the appropriate age to drive, drink, and enter the military.

Hence, as the wind blows or stomach churns…so too are politicians whims.  The Constitution and its Amendment process designed to limit and prevent this lunacy; but Republicans have failed to protect and preserve the document.

Bob Brady a Pennsylvania Democrat planned to introduce legislation that would ban symbols like the “crosshairs” map.  He offered this as reasoning after the Tucson shooting, “I don’t know what’s in that nut’s head.  I would rather be safe than sorry.”

Can someone please explain how liberals can believe limiting free speech or trouncing the Constitution would make you or me safer?  As Glenn Beck says, “How ridiculous it is becoming.  Are we to ban Jesus on a Cross because it is a violent symbol?”

“Question:  Name the three shortest books in the world…How to Win Friends and Influence People by Rahm Emanuel; Humility and Its Virtues by Barack Obama; What the Constitution Means to Me by Nancy Pelosi.”  – 365 ways to drive a liberal crazy

“If freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”  – George Washington

Uncle Sam was Crying... Now he's out to change Washington.

The government is not responsible for you; you are responsible for “yourself.” “Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.” “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves”…
